 Schönfeld Gallery presents “Somewhere the zebra is dancing”; an exhibition with work by Krista Autio and Alison Pilkington. Autio's quest for simplicity and authenticity seems to contrast with Pilkington's strange and restless canvases. Yet in their dialogue, a similar production process can be discovered, in which intuition, memory and self-reflection are central. “Somewhere the zebra is dancing” -a title inspired by a passage from Garth Stein's novel "The Art of Racing in the Rain"- is about the schizophrenia humanity, characterized by the daily jousting between our inner devils and angels.
