The 2022 programme of temporary exhibitions at the Fondazione Ghisla Art Collection in Locarno is completed with the anthological exhibition by Andrea Mariconti (Lodi, 1978) entitled Næuma Antimatter. In the exhibition, contemporary sound research meets the age-old material of bronze, in a sound-visual experience that aims to explore new expressive paths that can combine contemporary sculptural, pictorial and musical research.

The project, conceived and realised entirely by Andrea Mariconti for the Ghisla Foundation, moves in an unprecedented context where artistic experimentation made up of sounds and images is enriched by tonal components and impulses that interact with works of art obtained by skilfully manipulating the physical properties of bronze casting and capable of transfiguring their plastic form to the advantage of a broader spatial and landscape context. Visitors share an experiential journey where arts and mediums intermingle and where sound, form and matter transfigure human perceptions, allowing oscillations from traditional universes made of matter, fire, bronze, essential forms and vibrations, to artistic processes of immediate contemporaneity.

The exhibition event consists of the installation of a main corpus of lost-wax bronze sculptural-musical works that, due to their particular form, resonate by sympathy, generating a suggestion of sounds according to a pre-established harmonic framework.

This series of sculptures, which cross the three rooms of the exhibition, is flanked on the walls by a series of paintings, arranged according to three thematic and chronological areas, which touch on peculiar moments of the artist's research and constitute a bridge between pictorial production and recent sculptural evolution.

The environment recalls an archaeological-artistic context and is the setting for an experience made up of geography, maps, music, matter and anti-matter. There are exhibits of processes, elaborated in between sculpture-painting-chalcography, whose exhibition care allows the sense of the particular research to be revealed through the juxtaposition of the elements and the transversality of the artistic disciplines.
